How does the process work?
The first step is inquiring. If all looks good and MK accepts the inquiry, a custom pricing and information guide will be sent to you. When the client is ready to proceed, MK will collect the booking fee, in addition to providing the Client Contract and Final Invoice.
How far in advanced should I reserve my date?
For weddings, it is recommended that you reserve your date with MK as soon as you have a venue, and know how many services there will be. That being said, MK books weddings up to 18 months out. Events and Education sessions can be reserved up to 6 weeks out.
Does my booking fee go towards my total?
No, the booking fee is a separate, upfront fee to reserve your date (not like a deposit). The service, travel, and any other fees are collected together, closer to your reservation with MK; specific date(s) will be provided in the Final Invoice.
Do you also do hair?
No, MK's focus and passion is specifically for makeup only. However, MK works alongside trusted artists whom can assist you during your reservation if available for your convenience!
How much is your travel fee?
Formula: $20 + ($0.75 X per mile both ways). A custom quote will be included in your contract after inquiring. Please note this formula does not include any parking or valet fees required by the venue, nor does it include any potential fees for accommodations / airfare. Madison Kelley will inform you if additional fees are needed.
What payment methods do you accept?
Currently, MK is accepting payments only through Zelle and Venmo. Your booking fee must be sent upfront, and all other fees will be collected the week of your reservation with MK, before the session.
When do I book a Bridal Trial?
You are more than welcome to book a trial as soon as you would like, per availability; however, Madison Kelley strongly recommends having a Bridal Trial 2-4 weeks before the wedding date (as well). At this point, the vision for the day is more clear.
Are Bridal Trials Required?
In short, no. Madison Kelley often works with out-of-state brides and can confidently work with a bride whom hadn't booked a trial. That being said, the goal of a bridal trial is to get a feel for what your vision is, and to prepare for the big day! Trials are not the end goal-- they are the gateway into refining your look and guide us to the next steps.
